Paula Peck and me for 48 years

For 48 years I have been baking a fruit cake from an article clipped from a Life Magazine...but undated. I added to the recipe things my husband requested, since I am not a fruit cake eater. The recipe survived a small kitchen fire in 1964...but it's crisped edges still allowed me to see the recipe. Folded and unfolded many many times...this year I dragged it out again...and searched again for clues as to the date of publication. In all this time I had not read the blurb at the begining of the article....and there it was! From Paula Peck's book "The Art of Fine Baking" to be published this month. Armed with that I looked up Paula Peck and the book was published in 1961....and there were many copies available for sale...so I now will have a fresh readable copy of this cake I have been making for 48 years.
